Evergreen hedging

Screening plants like laurels (above) are designed to cover fences, provide backdrops for other planting, divide garden areas or create garden rooms or to give privacy in urban areas when developments occur that overlook the garden. We generally keep good stocks of these evergreens from 60cm (2') tall up to 180cm (6').

Griselinia makes an attractive hedge with its apple-green leaves on yellow stems. Also very tolerant of seaside areas and will grow right on the beach. Elaeagnus in its green or variegated form also makes a tough wind-resistant hedge with the bonus of lemon scented flowers late in the summer.

Broadleaf evergreens include Portugal Laurel, Photinia Red Robin, Privet, Pyracantha, Viburnum tinus and especially useful in seaside areas, Euonymous japonica. All these are usually available, year round, in a range of sizes. Coniferous types include yew, Leylands cypress, Thuja and Pines

For larger projects we can provide quotations for sourcing stock from our established suppliers. We also provide a planting service in east Kent. Please ask our staff if you would like a planting estimate.
